      Information

Breach is one of the more interesting mechanics in Path of Exile 2 because it combines fast monster clearing with a longer progression system. For players interested in building Path of Exile 2 Currency, Breach can become a useful activity once its different reward systems are understood. The encounter itself is easy to start, but the Genesis Tree, Womb Gifts, Hive Blood, Atlas progression, and Breach questline add several layers that are worth learning early. With the right approach, you can turn each Breach into progress toward both immediate rewards and valuable endgame content.

      Starting a Breach encounter

When you discover a Breach hand while exploring a map, interact with it to activate the event. A large purple circle expands around the starting point, and monsters begin pouring into the area. Your first objective is to defeat enough enemies to fill the saturated purple progression bar.

Positioning matters throughout this process. A brighter purple line inside the encounter indicates the effective safe zone. Try to remain near this area while moving from side to side. If you wander too far outside the circle, monsters can still attack you even though you may no longer be able to hit them effectively. Staying mobile while maintaining your position gives you a better chance of clearing enemies quickly.

      Filling the progression bar

Breach encounters are built around maintaining momentum. Monsters continue appearing while you clear them, so a character with strong area damage can make the event much easier. However, damage is not the only consideration. Keep an eye on incoming enemies, avoid standing in dangerous attacks, and do not chase individual monsters so far away that you leave the effective Breach area.

Once the saturated purple bar is completely filled, the encounter enters its final stage. Commanders appear in the center, and defeating them completes the Breach. A loot explosion then provides your rewards. Breach Splinters are an important part of the reward pool, and Womb Gifts will also appear in most completed encounters.

      Unlocking the Genesis Tree

After completing your first Breach, Alva becomes available at the Monastery of the Keepers. This is where the mechanic becomes much deeper. Alva introduces the Genesis Tree, which is used to spend Womb Gifts and create specialized rewards.

The tree contains five different wombs: Belt, Ring, Amulet, Currency, and Breachstone. Each womb focuses on a particular category, allowing you to shape your rewards around your preferred progression path. You place a matching Womb Gift into the appropriate womb and spend Hive Blood to birth the resulting item.

Hive Blood is gained passively by clearing Breaches, so continued farming naturally supports the Genesis Tree. Another useful feature is that refunds on the tree are completely free. You can therefore experiment with different paths without worrying about permanently losing resources.

      Understanding Womb Gift types

There are four main Womb Gift types to remember. Lavish Gifts are connected to the Currency Womb and can produce catalysts and orbs. Ornate Gifts focus on Amulets, Branded Gifts are associated with Belts, and Signet Gifts are used for Rings.

For newer characters, investing into the right side of the Genesis Tree first can provide a strong foundation. That route gives additional Hive Blood and bonuses toward currency or amulet wombs. After building this foundation, you can move left and specialize in whichever gift category best fits your build.

      Continuing through the Breach questline

The Breach system eventually becomes a full questline. After collecting your first Womb Gifts and Splinters, speak with Alva to receive a Breachstone. Using it opens a hidden area beneath the Monastery and gives you access to a new section of the Atlas marked with Breach Fire icons.

Every completed Breach Fire map provides one Atlas passive point. The quest then sends you toward the High Fortress, which requires at least a Tier 6 wasteland map. Lower tiers are recommended while the current bugs remain an issue. Escort Eilidh to the top, survive the wave encounter, and make your way through the labyrinth-like walls for another loot explosion.

      Reaching the Breach endgame

The Main Tower requires a Tier 14 or higher waystone. At the top, two mini-pinnacle bosses must be defeated simultaneously, and they drop the Breach Lord Sack. Afterward, return to the Fortress of Keepers and use the secret door to enter the Twisted Domain.

The Twisted Domain has a timer, so efficient movement becomes important. Continue through the area until you reach Xesht, the Breach pinnacle boss. Completing the quest and returning to Alva unlocks further progression. Investing in the Verun-related node can allow Verun to appear on Breach maps. Defeat him, bring his head back to the Genesis Tree, and you can unlock Grasping Orchid, which uses 60 Breach rings.

      Final Breach farming advice

Players researching Path of Exile 2 Orbs for sale should first understand how much value their own Breach progression can provide. The Currency Womb and Lavish Gifts can make Breach particularly interesting for players who want currency-related rewards while continuing their Atlas progression.

If you are comparing Path of Exile 2 Currency for sale, remember that Breach offers more than a single source of loot. Splinters, Womb Gifts, Hive Blood, Atlas points, and specialized encounters can all contribute to a broader farming strategy. Also, if Eilidh's ritual causes the game to crash when you interact with her abilities, avoid using those skills and simply defeat the waves yourself so the encounter can finish normally.
