Information
Aion 2 is approaching another major milestone with NC’s Launch Scale Test now available to players. The free event gives the community a controlled preview while NC uses the increased player activity to examine its servers and infrastructure. Players interested in Aion 2 Items can participate without an invitation, although the temporary test environment comes with several restrictions.
An Accessible Pre-Launch Event
The Launch Scale Test is open to everyone, eliminating the need for special keys, invitations, or registration-list access. This makes the event easy to join for players who want to experience Aion 2 before Early Access.
The broad availability also serves a technical purpose. A scale test is most useful when enough players participate to create meaningful server demand. NC can observe the infrastructure under heavier activity while participants gain practical experience with the game.
Schedule and Pre-Download Details
Players were able to begin the pre-download at 6 a.m. PT on September 16. That preparation window continues until 6 a.m. PT on September 17, immediately before Day 1 begins.
The first live session is scheduled from 6 a.m. to noon PT on September 17. Day 2 follows from noon to 6 p.m. PT on September 18. Because each session has a fixed duration, players should plan around the available windows if they want to make the most of the test.
Progression Is Not Permanent
The two sessions are connected by temporary progression. Any progress earned during Day 1 carries into Day 2, allowing participants to continue with the same test character.
After Day 2 ends, however, all of that progress disappears. Nothing transfers to Advanced Access or launch. This means players should treat the test as a chance to experiment, explore, and learn rather than as a way to establish an early permanent character.
The Economy Is Temporarily Shut Down
No purchases are available during the Launch Scale Test. NC has disabled the shop, Quna, passes, memberships, and all payment portals for the event.
The marketplace and trading systems are also unavailable. Quna exchange and player-to-player trading remain disabled, and Founder’s Pack items cannot be accessed. As a result, the testing environment does not include the full economic experience that will become available later.
Restrictions Keep the Test Focused
The maximum character level is limited to 37. Players can progress within that range, but content requiring higher levels cannot be reached during the event.
The Closet system is also disabled, leaving everyone with default outfits. These restrictions reduce the number of variables active during testing and allow players to concentrate on the core systems that NC wants to evaluate before the next release phase.
Platform Requirements Before Early Access
Steam users have an additional step to remember. The Playtest App used for the Scale Test must be uninstalled before Advanced Access begins on September 30. Players then need to download AION 2 separately.
PURPLE users do not need to make additional changes. Since the transition to Advanced Access comes soon after the Scale Test, knowing the client requirements ahead of time can help players avoid unnecessary delays.
Looking Beyond the Temporary Test
The permanent game will introduce a much broader progression environment. Once the full systems are active, players will be able to develop characters without the test's automatic wipe and will have access to features that are currently disabled.
Players who want to plan their long-term progression may eventually look at Aion 2 Boosting as one possible way to save time. During the Scale Test, however, the priority is simply experiencing the available content and helping NC evaluate the service.
A Final Check Before Release
The Launch Scale Test represents an important pre-release step because it combines open participation with controlled restrictions. NC can collect technical information from a wider audience, while players receive a free opportunity to explore Aion 2 before the next access stage.
The event does not preserve progression and does not include every feature, but that does not diminish its role as a testing period. For players preparing for Advanced Access and the eventual launch, it offers a practical introduction to the game while NC continues preparing its infrastructure.
