Guru Mamta Maharaj has been in the field of Kathak for over 40 years and is one of the finest Gurus of Lucknow Gharana of Kathak. She is known to teach the fine nuances of Kathak in an easy-to-understand manner. She brings to students the latest creations of Guru Pt Birju Maharaj besides the traditional Kathak repertoire which she has been exposed to right from childhood, being part of the family of Kalka-Bindadin Lucknow Gharana of Kathak.

The institute is affiliated with Pt Birju Maharajji's institution, Kalashram, Delhi. Students of Brijshyam Kalakunj have provision to appear for Kathak examinations conducted by Kalashram, Delhi.
